Tea Profile: Our Red Robe Tea, known as Da Hong Pao(大红袍), is a premium Wuyi rock oolong from the misty cliffs of China's Fujian Province. Hand-plucked from ancient tea bushes and traditionally charcoal-roasted, this legendary tea is celebrated for its rich, mineral-rich character. Named after the emperor's red robes gifted to the tea bushes in folklore, it offers a harmonious balance of depth and complexity. Sustainably sourced and crafted using time-honoured methods, its a testament to Wuyi's tea-making heritage.
Flavour: This tea delivers a bold, roasted profile with distinctive mineral undertones (referred to as yan yun or "rock rhyme"). Layers of dark chocolate and dried fruit emerge, complemented by a smooth, lingering sweetness. The full-bodied yet refined taste is free from bitterness, making it ideal for multiple infusions. Brew with water at 95°C (203°F) for 3-4 minutes.
Aroma: The dry leaves emit a warm, toasty scent with hints of roasted chestnut. When steeped, the aroma deepens into smoky, floral notes, accented by a subtle caramel sweetness from the charcoal roasting. Each steep reveals evolving layers, balancing earthiness with delicate freshness.
